Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM)

OVERVIEW

The School of Nursing, Edappal Hospitals (P) Ltd, Edappal came into existence on 01st January 2001. After completion of the GNM course, the nurses are eligible for 1 year work experience (considered part of the bond executed at the time of admission) is provided in the institution. The individual can continue as a staff nurse in the hospital after the bond period.

The nurse is eligible to work as a staff nurse in any state in India and abroad, after attaining a minimum work experience of 2 years. The passouts of this Nursing School are eligible for admission to Post Basic Bsc Nursing Courses (2 years after GNM), Specialization courses in different branches of Nursing (cardiothoracic, emergency care, Geriatric Nursing. etc). They are eligible to serve in Government healthcare sector (state & central) through the PSC examination.

Indian Nursing Council (INC) vide Order No: 18 – 1120/ 2000/ INC.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Minimum qualification

Pass in Plus Two or equivalent examination with any group as optional subject to an aggregate of 40% marks.

Age limitation

Not less than 17 yrs or more than 27 yrs as on the 1st day of October 2011. Upper age limit relaxation up to 5 yrs for SC/ST candidates & 3 yrs for backward communities.

Necessary certificates

  • Original SSLC certificate
  • Original Plus Two certificate
  • Original Conduct certificate from the Principal of school/ college last attended
  • Original Conduct certificate from a gazetted officer

Other criteria

  • Can be a resident of any state in India
  • 10% seats reserved for SC/ST candidates on production of certificate from the Tahsildhar.
  • 20% seats reserved for male candidates as day-scholars.
  • Married candidates fulfilling the above mentioned eligibility conditions can apply
  • Female candidates can join as day-scholars

The prescribed application form & prospectus can be obtained from the office of the School of Nursing on payment of Rs. 200/- in cash orby post on payment of Rs. 250/- as money order. Application forms will be issued immediately after publication plus two results. The advertisement for the admission to the course will be given in all leading newspapers.

Edappal hospital has been an accredited centre for post graduate studies by the National Board of Examinations of India for DNB in OB&G since 1999. Every year we have at least 4 students all over the country to pursue post grad studies in the centre.

OVERVIEW

Course description

All aspects of infertility and IVF will be covered including basic infertility management, ultrasonography, laparoscopy and fetal medicine. Excellent library facilities are available. On completion, candidate will be given a fellowship certificate from the institution. You can surely start independent IVF unit after the completion of the course.

Not recognized by any university at present. Certificate will be provided by the institution (CIMAR) only.

Fellowship in Fetal Medicine

OVERVIEW

Course description

One year of intensive training in High Risk pregnancy and fetal medicine including exposure to all fetal procedures like Amniocentesis, Chorionic villous sampling, Fetal Blood Sampling, Intra Uterine transfusion, Fetal Reduction etc. You will be able to handle all high risk pregnancies, and will be well versed in Malformation scans, Doppler studies etc. On completion, candidate will be given a fellowship certificate from the institution.
